Stable Cottage Reviews

Lovely accommodation, very clean, as described, lovely basket of goodies waiting for us, and the hot tub was heated for our arrival. Fantastic dog walks from the front door and walked to the local pub. Would definitely recommend.
Christopher
Absolutely lovely property with a great woodland walk right outside the door, very dog friendly. The welcome pack was great and the Xmas decorations a nice touch, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Fantastic. Great location. Beautiful house. Nice and peaceful getaway from it all.
Elaine
Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. Within easy reach of lovely walks and Ludlow and Hereford, both of which offer a variety of independent retailers. The cottage was very comfortable, particularly the beds! All you could need for a self catering stay. The welcome hamper was excellent. If you are taking your dogs they are also well provided for. Would recommend for a peaceful retreat, a real home away from home.
Stable Cottage is set in an idyllic location. Surrounded by fields, woods, wildlife and lots of options for walking. The cottage is very private and has its own garden. Well presented and very clean. Well equipped and comfortable. The boot room is useful if it has been raining and you need to dry off yourselves and soggy dogs. We loved our stay.
Elizabeth
A peaceful location to share some time catching up with friends. Enjoyed local walks together. Nice to return to the cozy cottage & hot tub!
Robert
Lovely find in a stunning valley surrounded by countryside. Really nice friendly hosts and well informed. Its a great choice if you want away from it all !! Nearest town for supplies is about 6.5 miles through a few narrow lanes but its no trouble once youve adjusted to country life!! Had a great time, glad we went.
Michelle
Cottage had everything that youd expect, as well as an amazing welcome hamper. Very calm and tranquil location. Lots of information provided regarding area, walks from cottage etc. Host very responsive to questions.
We had a great stay the cottage is so comfortable and so warm , it was decorated lovely for Xmas. The kitchen was great and there was everything that you could possibly need. The bed was so comfortable. Outside the walks from the doorstep were great with our 2dogs as was the countryside surrounding we visited a lot of places.Mike was most helpful and informative we will definitely return
Kathryn
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cosy cottage. Very peaceful location that we found very relaxing. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and we slept extremely well. Lovely welcome hamper on arrival. The wood fired hot tub was amazing, we used it a couple of times. It was a lovely experience sitting in it and looking up at the stars. Some lovely walks through the woods right on the doorstep.Belinda and Mike were lovely people . We would definitely return in the future.
A perfect place in a beautiful rural setting, but within easy reach by car to lots of very beautiful towns and villages independent shops, clean, no empty shops! . We absolutely loved this cottage and will definitely come back, we also loved the whole area. We normally go to the Cotswolds, but chose this cottage because it had everything we needed and felt like a change. Boy were we pleased we did. In short Stable Cottage absolutely perfect, but importantly the surrounding area, towns and villages also fantastic too. Our whole party really enjoyed the break. The cottage is absolutely wonderful inside with everything we needed. We specifically needed a double bed and walk in shower down stairs, plus anther double bedroom with shower or bath. This was because we were travelling with very elderly parents. The hot tub, which is wood fired was brilliant and as it sits in a very sheltered and secluded area so even though there was a severe rain weather warning during that time and the temp dropped to around 16c it was still absolutely lovely to sit outside and go in the hot tub which we went in for several hours for 3 of our 4 days. The cottage had a really handy large boot room so all your clutter could happily sit out there. I also like to cook whilst away. The kitchen, although a little small mainly available counter space, was very well fitted out with absolutely everything you could ever need even a washing machine! and the items were all of a high standard ie no useless knives or can openers etc. Belinda and Mike were wonderful, lovely and helpful, always around if you needed anything, but not if you didnt. Lots of walks from the cottage. We also visited Hereford Castle needed to be in the summer months I think to get the splendour of the gardens we went end Sept. Hereford lovely worth a visit , ate at the Beefy Boys very nice, Worcester, again lovely. Both towns vibrant, lots of independent shops including modal shops for the husband and very clean. We had a truly outstanding meal tapas at the Unwind Bar definitely worth a visit. If you go on a Thursday and spend more than 40 on Tapas, you can get a bottle of wine at 50 off. We went for a red from Puglia at 29 per bottle 14.50 with the discount honestly one of the most beautiful reds I have ever tasted. So good we are going to import some in for ourselves.

Directions describing the property entrance and signage could be made a little clearer
Lovely cosy cottage, welcome hamper was a very nice touch, hot tub was great, unfortunately there was an infestation of wasps by the back door, inside, which meant that there were a lot buzzing around the cottage all the time. On the whole we had a very nice stay at Stable Cottage, thank you
Stable Cottage is lovely. Beautiful grounds , great for dog walking . A real get away from it all break .

Stable cottage is beautiful. Hanley Mill is stunning. The whole place is a tonic from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage is really well presented and has been equipped to a high standard. The welcome hamper was a real treat with beautiful home made produce. Our only complaint is that we didnt book to stay longer! We would definitely like to return.
Darren

Valerie
Beautiful cottage in idyllic setting. Fantastic welcome box on arrival. One of the best equipped cottages we've stayed in. Belinda and Mike have thought of everything. Definitely recommend and will be going back
Caroline
Absolutely beautiful location and a stunning cottage! The welcome basket was a lovely touch, my friends and I had a wonderful stay.
Lovely well equipped cottage in beautiful location. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area.If you want to use the wood fired hot tub it takes planning as it takes 3hours to heat and you have to maintain the fire so need to be at the property during the 3hours. Once heated, it is lovely, however a better cover over it would help keep any bugs and bits out,
The hosts were lovely and there if you needed anything. Beautiful cottage and area. Had a lovely time there and the hot tub was an added bonus. It is an ideal place to go for a relaxing getaway. Brilliant place for walks with the dogs or on your own, stunning views. The cottage was so clean and a welcome basket when we arrived even a treat for the dogs. Homemade jam and apple juice and lots of other things in the Pantry at a very good price and tasted lovely. We will definitely be back and I will recommend your stunning cottage to friends and family xxxx
Debbie
Not great having to pay for the wood to heat the hot tub. We booked this cottage as it offered walks from the door this wasnt always the case as many were very overgrown, I appreciate this is not the owners responsibility but maybe it could be mentioned
Excellent retreat away from everything, everything provided location excellent for a relaxing break.
Really lovely cottage in very peaceful location. ..Great walks on the doorstep. Very comfortable very relaxing!
What a wonderful cottage and place to stay. Loved the hot tub and the peace and quiet was sublime.Lovely walks on your doorstep and gorgeous views. Highly recommended!!
An amazing place. So peaceful with beautiful surroundings. Belinda and Mike were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Loved sitting in the hot tub in the dark and listening to the owls. Will definitely visit again.
Patricia

Great location and a great cottage. Was brilliant for the dogs with the boot room and the surrounding walls. The hosts were very welcoming and checked we had what we needed and the welcome basket was a very nice touch. We are all ready looking at dates to return next year
Angela
A lovely stay in this beautiful location. Very comfortable cottage with everything you could need provided. The owners, Belinda and Mike were warm and very hospitable. We hope to return soon!
The cottage was everything and more that was in the information,We really enjoyed our few days there seeing all the animals and enjoying the wonderful walks. The welcome basket was really good. The bee experience is worth taking up. The hosts made you feel very welcome and we will most certainly want to go back again.
We had a wonderful stay at Stable Cottage it had everything we needed, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were blessed with good weather and enjoyed the got tub immensely. The host was very friendly and we took part in his bee keeping experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by all, would definitely return here.
Annette
Superb property sitting in a beautiful valley. Lots of walks within the immediate area. Exceptionally dog friendly. The 'boot room' was excellent for sorting two legged and four legged 'muddy paws'. It was also a very cool bedroom for our pup. Lots of animals chickens, sheep, horses around too. Owners dog is very friendly. Somewhere you need to go if you really want to chill out and relax. You could spend a week just walking the grounds and watching the stars from the hot tub. The grounds are set up in the most beautiful english cottage garden style with the beehives in the top field away from the houses, completing the English Cottage garden theme. The owners are very helpful but also very discreet. Whilst there are a couple of cottages and some fab 'glamping' tents, the set up is such that you feel you always have your own private space. The very yummy welcome 'crate' was a nice surprise too, by both the human members and the dog. Six out of five stars!
Rachel
It was actually better than the pictures. The planting is more mature and it is idyllica piece of heaven
Really enjoyed our stay with our little dog. Very calm and peaceful setting. It was great to have walks from the door as well as many interesting towns, villages, parks, and stately homes and castles to visit nearby. The owners are very welcoming, but not intrusive. We loved all the animal sculptures around the site some were created by the owner having some fun with a chainsaw during the pandemic!
We had lovely stay at this cottage, owners made us welcome. I would recommend this cottage and location for a quiet break away. However my only criticism was the internet was poor, continually dropping out, not an issue for most I'm sure but we needed it for business use. Otherwise perfect.
This was a perfect cottage in an idyllic location. Everything was provided, and you could happily stay for a week without leaving once you got your food. Hosts were friendly and approachable, but gave us our space and only came to the cottage to change the water in the hot tub on the Monday. The hot tub is awesome, but does need you to keep an eye on the fire while heating, it gets overheated really quickly and you have to put cold water in! Although its so secluded, in a half hour drive you're in beautiful market towns. There's shops and pubs nearby each pub competing to be the oldest in the area!. There's also a little shop literally next door to the cottage that sells eggs, apple juice, jams etc, along with the wood for the hot tub. I was genuinely upset to be leaving, it was so beautiful and peaceful I feel it restored me just by being there! We'll be back for definite. I feel like I'm writing advertising blurb, but it really is that good!
