Phoenix House, Castlemorton

Lovely place to spend time with family at Christmas. Very spacious and great sun room. We enjoyed our time at phonix house. We were welcomed by owner in arrival and showed around the house. Nothing was too much or trouble. My grandson enjoyed playing with owners grand children. Would love to visit in the summer time.

This property was perfect for our family group 6 adults 2 2 year old and 2 crawlers. The owners were very welcoming and helpful with any issues. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub given the inclement weather. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

We have just spent a lovely week in Phoenix House. The house was roomy and gave each of us plenty of space which was especially important as there were 3 generations of family. We enjoyed the hot tub and were lucky with the weather so could even use the patio for a few glasses of wine! There was lots to do in the area. We visited 2 National Trust properties and ventured out to Hay on Wye and Stratford upon Avon. Jonny the host was very helpful and friendly.

Our family holiday consisting of 8 persons and an infant from ages 90 years to 9 months was made memorable by our stay at Phoenix House. Everything about it is top grade....the space & decor, the facilities, the ambience, the upkeep. Even its location is good....lots of lovely places are accessible from it. Johnny was always there when you needed him and promptly fixed any issues. Thanks Johnny! Both him and Pam are great hosts...very mindful and cooperative. Thanks once again! Everyone had a fabulous time.

Absolutely amazing host. Johnny was so welcoming and very helpful. The place is beautiful, we had a great time with our kids and another family. Definitely recommend it. Very well furnished all the modern stuff. The grounds are very nice, can go for walks or simply just sit and enjoy the views. Kitchen is very well furnished, lots of space for everyone to sit and relax. Highly recommended booking this beautiful place. We would definitely come back.

Amazing week at Phoenix House. The house was spacious and had more than enough room for 9 of us. The house was really well laid out and had all the amenities we needed. The children loved the hot tub and playing in the garden. We all loved the host Jonny who was very kind and welcoming. We have been going away as a family for many years, have stayed in many places across the country, and Phoenix House was one of the most special places we have been to yet. We all loved it and would recommend it to anybody that is ever considering this House. We'll definitely be back! Thank you Jonny.

Phoenix House isnt just a place to stay, its a place to be. And once youre there, youll wonder how you ever functioned without floortoceiling windows and a sunroom engineered to trap warm laughter for hours. Our group consisted of two couples, one adorable kid, a shared playlist of winefueled laughter and one holiday cottage that made us question our life choices mainly, why we dont live there fulltime?!. Phoenix House is a true sanctuary. From the moment we arrived, we were smitten. This modern barn conversion in the shadow of the Malvern Hills is open and spacious enough to house a reality show cast and stylish enough that none of them would throw a tantrum about it. Think converted barn with high ceilings, plush furnishings, and enough cozy corners to have quiet reflection time. Now, about the grounds lush, peaceful, and fully inhabited by the worlds most socially welladjusted chickens. You havent lived until youve enjoyed your morning coffee watching a hen strut past like she pays the mortgage. But what truly makes Phoenix House different, what elevates it from oh nice place to bookedagainbeforeweevenleft is the presence of Jonny and Charl. Effortlessly lovely, warm, and exactly the kind of people you wish lived next door in real life. Theyre hosts with the kind of presence we feel fortunate to have experienced. Attentive, funny, friendly and full of small, thoughtful touches that made us feel more like honoured guests than paying strangers. And lets talk location. Nestled near Castlemorton Common with walking routes that deliver actual peace and quiet plus a few rogue sheep, its near enough to UptonuponSevern for riverside meanders and tapas, yet blissfully disconnected from any actual responsibilities. Or mobile reception. The only thing wrong with Phoenix House is that you have to leave it. Unless you come back which were already planning In conclusion 1010, would abandon city life for this place. Book it. Bathe in its glory. And bring snacks. Youll need the energy to say goodbye.

Fabulous house in a beautiful location. Pam, Johnny, Charl and the kids did everything they could to make our stay perfect. The house design has been carefully thought out so everyone has their own space, yet there are lots of different areas for us all to sit together. We loved the friendly chickens and listening to the sheep in the fields. We would highly recommend this house and the Cotswolds and Hereford etc are easily accessible. We definitely hope to come back next year! Thank you!

Everything about this property is great. The hosts, the location, the facilities and the comfort. Every detail is spot on. Small bit of feedback, would be great to have some instructions for the ovens, hob and TV all too modern for us to work out, sorted with a bit of googling!

We spent the most fabulous family Christmas in this beautiful tranquil house! Jonny and his lovely mum Pam were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had a couple of minor niggles when we first arrived, but these were promptly dealt with. The house was spotless, warm and beautifully decorated for Christmas I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Phoenix House for a group getaway. We liked it so much we hope to return in the summer!

Just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay6 adults and 3 children. The perfect houseso much space and all the equipment you could need. The surrounding views are fab and very peaceful. The hot tub was a big hit and the kids loved scooting around the house and garden. The hosts Jonny and Pam were so welcoming and lovely people to chat to they really have the perfect place for a family getaway! We will definitely be returning in the future. Eight of us had a wonderful week staying in this beautiful barn. The barn is large and spacious, and there was so much room for three generations of our family. The property was spotless and contained all amenities required for our week. There was lots of outdoor space to sit and relax in or play games of boules, and the surrounding area was so peaceful. A huge thank you to Pamela and Jonny for making us feel so welcome. It was lovely being shown around the barn by Tallulah and also meeting Frank. We are taking great care of our plants, and thank you for them. We hope to return! Terry, Maureen and family.

From the moment we arrived it was Holiday time and I have to say Jonny and Pam made us feel at home straight away showing us a beautiful property with a very high spec and even though they owners lived on sight you were left alone unless you needed them but I loved our conversations with Pam in the mornings on our way out and Jonny is a true legend! . The hottub was very nice and we will be back!! this holiday was a proper Chillax'athon and thank you Pam for the plant it is has been watered and I will let my Gardener pot this so I know it has been done properly I hope to see the Alpaca's next time after their haircut and the 2 new Rhea's and my favourite time was sitting outside at midnight feeling totally chilled and relaxed you couldn't hear a pin drop bliss Graham & Michaela x

We stayed at Phoenix house, at the end of August, to celebrate my mums 70th. The house itself is simply beautiful, with plenty of gorgeous light and green views all around. This meant that when the weather was wet we could still appreciate the outdoors. Its set back away from the other building so plenty of privacy and space, but nice to know there is a family nearby a minute or two walk from the property. The owners are a super friendly family, at hand for anything needed and quick to respond. On the morning of my mums birthday the owners left a small potted plant, that my mum had commented that she liked, as a gift, with a very thoughtful message in a card. It was such a kind touch and really made my mum feel special. A couple of minor improvements I'd suggest would be to have a couple of extra tea towels, and to provide a couple of basics in the kitchen such as foil for the oven, washing liquidscourer etc, although I know many properties don't provide either so not specific to this experience at all! Wish we had booked a longer stay as 4 nights just wasn't enough. One of the nicest hosts I've come across. Thank you for an amazing experience. Would love to come back again!

We have just come back from a lovely week staying at this property, perfect for our family of 8, beautiful garden for the children to play in and wonderful house to relax and catch up in. The owners were respectful, attentive, helpful and friendly.

Just home from a wonderful week at Phoenix House with our children and grandchildren. The house is simply outstanding and Pam, Jonny and families are very friendly and helpful but completely unobtrusive. We couldnt have chosen a more beautiful place to stay the little ones loved the huge safe outside space to play, run and scoot and the vast open plan downstairs is perfect for extended families who like to eat together but also want their own space too. An additional freezer in the utility was a very welcome extra we had Sainsburys deliveries twice during our stay and with two little ones it was great to have a washing machine and dryer too. The hot tub was a great hit with everyone and Pam or Jonny came every day to check levels and make sure it was in perfect working order for us. The house is in a beautiful and very peaceful setting and the area has lots of great places to visit and see. If you are reading this review and thinking of booking please dont hesitate just book and you will not be disappointed. Phoenix House is definitely 5 star. We had a lovely stay at Phoenix house which was a great spot for a family get together and vacation. The house and garden was perfect for our needs and spotlessly clean. Great facilities and such friendly and helpful hosts.

We stayed at the end of July 5 adults and 3 children and had a wonderful time. I have stayed in many cottages and houses for breaks around the UK, and Phoenix House is one of the best properties we have experienced. It started with a very warm welcome from Pam who showed us around the house. She greeted every single one of us and interacted with our children. We loved the open planned living, and the cleanliness was very important to us. In fact this is the first property where I felt I could walk around barefooted on the clean floors downstairs and the lush carpet upstairs I would always wear socks or slippers in other properties. The house is modern as shown in the photos, accompanied by art and decor with Asian influence to give the interiors warmth and character. I particularly like that there are many different sofas in the right places to relax on near the kitchen, in the downstairs bedroom, in the sun room, and of course the main living area. All of them were of decent quality, and we all commented that the grey sofas in the sun room were incredibly comfortable! Another thing that cannot be overlooked is the powerful water pressure, and if like me, you like a good rainfall shower over your head, this is spalevel greatness. It's so powerful that you may have to be slightly careful if you are using the hand shower. I see that the last review said that there is no privacy. We had no problems at all during our stay, and felt we had the privacy we wanted. There were no intrusions, and owners' houses were far enough. It was never an issue that they were on site, and it was reassuring that they were close by in case we needed help with anything. You do have to open and shut the gate as mentioned as you drive inout, and this was a light banter in our family as to who's turn it was to do it. The beds were comfortable, and the linens were all fine. There were a few bits and bobs that can be improved, mainly saucepans that needed replacing, and Pam was very receptive to hear about them so I made a snag list for her. No need to go into detail. Most are relatively minor things, but would make the whole experience even better such as improvements to kitchen cutlery, having regular glass tumblers, and I actually forgot to mention that the can opener doesn't work. Pam said she had ordered some new furniture and a new barbeque after our stay so I'm sure future guests are going to benefit as a result! In summary this is an amazing property, and we had a brilliant family time away. Finally, I left my laptop at the house, as it had slipped down the side of the bed. Pam was kind enough to call me on the same day of our departure to let me know. She then kept it save for me at her house and I went back to pick it up. I'm very grateful for this, so thanks very much again Pam!

We had a fabulous week in this lovely house, 9 of us from two families all adults felt at home straight away. The house was spotless with everything you needed. The outside space was great as we like to play outdoor games and the hot tub an added bonus. The Alpacas just outside were a joy to see everyday alongside the sheep and chickens and the charming Jonny and all his family were always on hand for anything you needed. We would absolutely come back to stay in this wonderful property and catch up with this lovely family.

This is our 2nd time at Phoenix House, first time was in July 2022, but we forgot to leave a review. But needless to say we returned as we had such a great time the first time. We came here at the end of May 23 for the kids half term for a week. Lovely spacious property we came as a family of 8 and the modern property catered for all our needs. Lovely outside space for the kids to play football and rounders, and boules. My daughter also bought her scooter and had hours of fun, Scooting round the outside of the house on the decking. Great wifi for those with teenagers. Hot tub was great and we made good use of this daily. We did a Tesco order to be delivered on the night we arrived to save us bringing the food with us, which was very handy. We had days out In Ledbury, Upton on Severn and also visited Malvern on the way home. Johnny, Pam and family were great hosts as they were before, and nothing is too much trouble for them, if you need anything. We will definitely return again as this has everything we needed for a relaxing family holiday.

Great location, fab house, owners are right next door if you need anything. Would recommend and definitely return. If you want a taxi though, book in advance! Its in the middle of nowhere and not many taxis!

Beautiful and peaceful setting This house worked very well for our three households with plenty of room for the children both inside and outside and plenty of room so that the adults were not on top of each other. The setting is lovely with views of the Malverns and with sheep and alpacas in the fields around. The accommodation was clean and well equipped and the owners were really pleasant. We hope to return as there are several things to do in the area that we didn't get around to.

Our 2nd stay at this property. Wonderful host, location and house. All you need for a break and a base to explore the area. House is well equipped and has plenty of space for a larger family group. Great WiFi connective which is a bonus for the younger generation.

This beautiful property was spotlessly clean, very well appointed and consistently warm and comfortable. The layout was ideal for a family celebration with ages ranging from 10 months to 86. Lots of different seating areas providing quiet space and lots of well kept outdoor space. Our host Pam couldn't have been more welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend Phoenix house .

We all had a wonderful week in Phoenix House. It is ideal for multi generations and there are plenty of varied activities and attractions within 45 minutes as well as local walks. The house works brilliantly with lots of space inside and out, we took small scooters and bikes and the safe driveway and veranda were a hit for these. The owners live close by and were really helpful and lovely. All in all this property is a real gem and we cant wait to return. Thank you

We have just returned from a great week at Phoenix House. Our party consisted of four generations aged 89 to 4 years. The house was very comfortable, spacious and clean. Plenty of room outside for the children to run around and burn off energy. The decking was a great space to sit although the benches werent that comfortable to sit for a long while. We took camping chairs for days out and ended up using them to sit on the decking. Our phone signals were poor Vodafone and EE but the house has excellent WIFI. Johnny and family were great hosts very welcoming and friendly making sure everything was just right for a perfect family holiday. They were around if needed as live close by but didnt intrude on our privacy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Phoenix House the property is amazingly comfortable and must be very cosy in winter! The lovely folding doors gave us some much needed air during the heatwave. Our three boys enjoyed the space that the property offers and the hot tub, of course! A previous review said that the property was suitable for wheelchair users but I found it very difficult to transfer to the toilet and well nigh impossible to use the shower. Some comfortable outdoor seating might be a nice addition but we had a most enjoyable stay. Our host was extremely welcoming and kindly left us a bottle of wine, offering help at any time with any problems or questions we might have. We would definitely recommend Phoenix House

This was a late booking but as a group we would highly recommend Phoenix House. Phoenix House is truly fantastic as are the grounds of the property. The family were fantastic hosts. Can't wait to re book so we can go back soon.
