The park is a very quiet and peaceful base which is ideally situated to explore the surrounding countryside and adjoins an area of outstanding natural beauty. Furnished throughout to a high standard, the lodge provides contemporary accommodation perfect for a romantic break or small family holiday. Set over the ground floor, the lodge has two lovely light and airy bedrooms, the master having an en-suite basin and WC. The doors from the sitting area lead to an enclosed front decked area with furniture, so no matter what time of day you can sit out with a drink and a good book. The excellent dog-friendly village pub next door serves real ales and home-cooked food, and is definitely worth a visit, especially if you fancy a break from cooking. The southern tip of the Malvern Hills is just a short drive away, offering hundreds of miles of footpaths and bridleways, all within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The northern edge of the beautiful Forest of Dean is within easy reach and offers many activities for guests wishing to enjoy the outdoors. Located on the border between Gloucestershire and Herefordshire there are a variety of towns and villages to suit all tastes including Tewkesbury, Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester, Hereford and Ledbury. You are also only 4.5 miles from the Three Counties Showground which hosts a variety of events throughout the year. This is a wonderful holiday cottage to be enjoyed all year round.

Broad Down Reviews

Almost
Almost there in as much as it is relatively cheap and it wouldn't take much to improve things. It is quite basic and some replacements wouldn't go amiss - just enough though for two or three people. It wasn't overly clean when we arrived, we needed to wipe down surfaces and handles in the kitchen area. The gas lighter was broken and only short matches supplied which meant that lighting the oven was a bit of a challenge to the fingers. The steps to the property could do with a rubber mat as they are dangerous when wet particularly as the outside lights are not working. My biggest gripe about the site is that phone and wi-fi signals are poor to non existent on "three" and "Vodafone" permanent residents have installed a land line. Unlike previous contributors we found the beds firm but comfortable. The pub at the entrance to the site was closed and undergoing a refit under new ownership so ignore any earlier somewhat mixed reviews. The owners of the chalet were very nice and helpful and I hope that they take my points as positive feedback. I booked through Sykes but I have to say that I will not deal with them again.
